E-mail Or E-jail 是电子信件？还是电子监狱？ （中英文对照）
我们大多数人都记得没有电子信件作为日常通信工具的日子。然而慢慢地但毫无疑问地，电子信件已悄悄进入我们的生活。电子信件对各种水平的大学生都是一种有用的工具。它可在每周7天、每天24小时使用，甚至节假日也不例外。大多数大学都在学生入学时就给他们分配一个电子信件的户头，因此，通常可以说没有选择不用电子邮件的余地。
从讨论作业和研究项目、与同学保持联系、与亲朋好友通讯、获得日常新闻服务，到跟踪了解世界上发生的各种事件，你都可通过电子信件来做。但是，电子信件有哪些缺点呢？
电子信件可能是"电子监狱".当你本该为一场即将到来的考试而攻读的时候，你可能得花上几个小时回电子信件。或者，你可能注册了太多的日常服务项目，诸如占星预测、新闻服务、征友等等，因而你的电子信箱中塞满了大量的"垃圾信件"，要从电子信箱中找到重要信件就可能需几小时时间。
如果你是一个学生，时间是宝贵的。建立和安排好你的电子信件文件夹，将其分成与学校有关的重要信件文件夹、亲友通信文件夹和一个用于笑话、占星预测及其他新闻服务等的杂项文件夹。总要首先将信件放入相应的文件夹中，处理完毕后，先打开与学校有关的重要信件文件夹，回复最重要的电子信件。如果你有时间，才能顾及其他。
不要让你的朋友向你转发那些无聊的玩笑、性知识问答和电子信件链接。一旦你知道收到了这样的链接，应立即删除，以免受其诱惑而去阅读。
Most of us can remember the days when we didn't use e-mail as an everyday vehicle1 for communication. Slowly but surely， it crept2 into our lives. E-mail is a valuable tool for college students at any level. It's available 24 hours a day， 7 days a week and even at holidays. Most universities assign students an account upon entrance， so there is usually not even an option involved.You can do everything from consulting on homework and projects， keeping in touch with classmates， corresponding with3 family and friends， and getting daily news services to keeping you posted4 on world events. But， what are the disadvantages？
E-mail can be e-jail. You might spend hours writing and responding to e- mails when you should be hitting5 the books for an upcoming exam. Or， you might be signed up6 for so many daily services， such as horoscopes7， news services， or personals， that your mailbox is so filled up with " junk8 mail" ，that finding the important e-mails through your mailbox might take hours.
If you're a student， time is at a premium9. Create and organize your e-mail folders into important school-related mail， correspondence with friends and family， and a miscellaneous10 folder for jokes， horoscopes， and other news services. Always put the mail into the appropriate folders first， and when you're finished， head for the important school-related folder first. Respond to the most important e-mails first and， if you have time， you can get to the others.
Discourage your friends from forwarding11 those tiresome joke lists， sex quizzes， and chain e-mails. The minute you realize you've got one， delete it immediately so you won't be tempted to read it
