My hometown has a very beautiful name——Changchun, which means perennial spring. And the city is as heautiful as its name suggests. It is the capital of Jilin Province, and is the political, economic and cultural center of the province and one of the key metropolises in China. With an area of over 18,881 square kilometers and a population of 6.83 million,it is a beautiful city situated in the hinterland of the Northeast plain of the country, and has long enjoyed the national reputation as "Fihn City", and "Automobile City". As a cultural city, it is proud to be the home of a number of noted universities and institutes of science and technology including Jilin University, which has national prominence.
Changchun is not only noted for its historical relics such as the Last Emperor's Palace but also for its wide streets, lush greenery and pure fresh air. Bows upon rows of high-rises are standing among the boundless and immense forests. Therefore, Changchun also has been nicknamed "City in the Forest". The scenery of the city is full of touching beauty,which inevltably leaves visitors with a memorable experience.
